Sergio García was one of the sensations at the Qatar GP in Moto2. The rider started from 18th place on the grid and finished the race in third place, a tasty podium for the MT Helmets-MSi man.
‘It was the first race, a disastrous qualifying session, but we managed to solve it during the race. The merit is mine, but also of the team, because after the disaster on Saturday, they were able to find the fault. They gathered the whole team and gave me a wake-up call. I think I failed a lot on Saturday. But being able to give the team’s first podium in Moto2, in the first race, with a good result from my teammate. I am getting along very well with this bike, just need to get the fastest lap, as always. I have to focus on that because if I had stayed ahead, I could have won the race,’ he described as quoted by the newspaper Marca.
‘The result is very positive, after a tough climb to Moto2. Many people did not trust me, due to my height, but in the end I showed that with hard work, anything is possible. Now it seems that tall riders are in fashion, but us small ones can also fight. I have to thank the team that believed in me, I believe we will achieve great things’, pointed out.
