Fabio Quartararo was not at all satisfied with the actions of the MotoGP Italy Grand Prix stewards after the accident he suffered in the Sprint race – which left him out on the second lap.
At turn ten, Miguel Oliveira (Trackhouse Racing/Aprilia) was right behind the Frenchman in 16th place and attacked the position, but this led to both colliding and falling, forcing them to abandon the race on the spot.
Subsequently, Quartararo went to the stewards’ room to make it clear that consistent decisions are necessary – considering that, in a similar incident involving him at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, he was penalized.
When asked about the response he gets from the stewards when seeking clarification, the 2021 champion replied: ‘I leave more confused than when I arrive. It seems like I’m talking to someone who has never competed. So, this is sad and I think we need more professional people‘.
