Still have doubts? Pedro Acosta continues to surprise in MotoGP and today in FP2 in Austin he once again showed that he will really shake up the World Championship, and there are few adjectives to describe the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rookie, who took the lead in the final minutes of the session.
All set for the last session before the start of qualifying in Austin, with the sun shining in America, the temperature was 21st, while on the track it was 27th.
After the first laps and with many riders still not leaving the garage of their teams, it was Marc Márquez leading the session with a lap in 2:02.809s, ahead of two Aprilia riders, Raúl Fernández – from the home team, Trackhouse Racing – while Maverick Viñales was third. Jack Miller was fourth and Pecco Bagnaia fifth for now.
Shortly after and with five laps completed, Viñales was the new leader of the session with a 0.051s advantage over Jorge Martín, with M. Márquez in third and Marco Bezzecchi in fourth. Bagnaia closed the top five. Jack Miller in sixth was the best KTM on track, ahead of the home duo led by Fernández, who had a 0.068s lead over Oliveira. Pedro Acosta was eighth and Enea Bastinini closed the top ten, with 18 minutes still to go.
Struggling, not surprisingly, was Yamaha with Álex Rins in 12th, who was the winner of this GP last year, while Honda had Joan Mir as its best in 18th.
With 15 minutes left in the session, most of the riders were in the garage of their respective teams, with Bezzecchi, Brad Binder, Álex Márquez, and Johann Zarco being the exception.
And it was precisely the youngest of the Márquez clan who climbed to second place in the session, placing himself 0.049s behind leader Viñales, who admitted yesterday to some difficulties and sought advice… from his brother.
With six minutes remaining, there were new changes, with Acosta jumping to the top of the timesheets and shortly after, former world champion Marc Márquez also moving up to second position.

Before the end, Bagnaia managed to set his best lap and thus reach the second best time of the session, 0.171s behind Acosta, with Marc Márquez being the third fastest.
