The 2023 Catalunya MotoGP Grand Prix made history as the first one with an Aprilia one-two finish, thanks to Aleix Espargaró’s victory – who defeated his teammate Maverick Viñales in a direct duel.
#41 expressed his pride in the post-race press conference, due to the historic moment and the collective work within Aprilia:
– I am very happy for Aprilia. I think it is a very historic moment. I am very proud of Aprilia, because we have come a long, long way. And Aprilia has to be very proud of me and Maverick, because together we have done a fantastic and historic job. It is not easy to have a good relationship with your teammate when you are fighting for top positions and developing a bike to compete against your rivals. So, I am very happy. Congratulations to Aprilia.
