Collin Veijer couldn’t be happier with his return to the top step of the podium, after a very strong race at the Spanish GP, defending the lead he took from the start.
The Intact GP rider’s first reaction to the result was as follows, in the closed park: ‘I still feel strange, to be honest. The race, overall, was quite good, yes, David Alonso crashed and that helped me a bit, because I think if he had continued, he would have also set the pace. At one point, I felt very good in the race and managed to keep up with my feelings, which finally led me to victory. Even on the last lap, I was thinking of blocking some corners and said “if they come, they will pass me”, but they ended up not doing so until the last corner’.
