In the 2024 season, several riders will see their contracts expire in MotoGP, including Enea Bastianini, Fabio Quartararo, Francesco Bagnaia, Jorge Martín, and Marc Márquez, among others. Therefore, in the coming months, there may be movements and rumors.
Pilots’ manager Alberto Vergani told GPOne.com that he expects negotiations to start much earlier than in 2023: ‘Next year, almost all contracts expire, so I expect a tight market. I hope negotiations are not decided right after Jerez, because otherwise it will be a real drama. This year the market ended very late, but in 2024, I fear we will want to play very early, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case‘.
And, particularly in the case of the Ducati teams, Vergani believes that things may not stay as they are: ‘Of course there are so many riders in Ducati right now and it is unlikely that we will see all of them again in 2025. Martín, if he does not go to the factory team, I believe he will leave and he has already made that clear in his most recent statements. Jorge could go to KTM or Honda, while Bastianini could go to Aprilia, it wouldn’t be bad for him. But Enea has to send a signal after the difficulties of the last season‘.
