Jorge Martín arrives at the Le Mans circuit needing to produce a good result after suffering a crash in Sunday’s race at the Jerez GP. The Spanish rider holds a slim 17-point advantage over Francesco Bagnaia, who won the Jerez GP and closed in on the championship lead.
In a debrief, the Prima Pramac Racing rider talked about his expectations for the weekend in France.
“I’m not excited, but I like it. I’m good here, I’m fast, and I have potential. Last year I was first and second. I’ve been analyzing very well what we can improve this year, and I think that if I improve two points, I can fight for the win. I started in 10th, then when I came back to the front, which is not an excuse because I was with Bezzecchi, it was a bit difficult to overtake Marc with Miller, and that’s when he pulled away from me. Anyway, the pace was very similar, and if I approach the race differently, I’m sure I can be in the fight.”
The championship leader also spoke about the rumors regarding who will take the factory Ducati seat next year: ‘I’m used to it. I’ve been there for three years, it doesn’t matter if I stay or someone else goes, it’s something that doesn’t affect me. I’m calm with the team, with the atmosphere, and with the options I have. The matter will be settled soon because we’ve been working on it for a long time, but hopefully everything will be clarified in the next two weeks.’
