Francesco Bagnaia won the Qatar GP, but was not as strong in Portugal and Austin, now being fifth in the championship. This weekend he will try to return to the podiums at the MotoGP Spanish GP.
The Italian stated before this round: ‘In the last two Grand Prix, we have been on the defensive. Jerez presents a different challenge from the tracks we have competed on so far, so working diligently in all sessions to understand how the GP24 behaves on this circuit is essential.’
Although recognizing that the opposition will not make his task easy, Bagnaia emphasized that he wants to continue the strong results he has had in Jerez in recent seasons:
– Over the past two years, we have achieved two fantastic victories here in Spain, and I will fight again for top positions this weekend. With many fast riders in the pack, it won’t be easy, but we are determined and prepared to give it our all.
With 50 points scored, Bagnaia is 30 points behind the championship leader, Jorge Martín (Pramac/Ducati). In the previous round, the Americas GP, he was eighth in the Sprint race and fifth in the main race.
