The 2024 Spanish Grand Prix, MotoGP published the news that the event had become the Grand Prix with the largest attendance ever, surpassing the previous attendance record but in the end… it wasn’t quite like that.
The organization admitted that ‘there was a miscalculation in the attendance numbers’ and with the desire to celebrate and the ‘eagerness’ felt due to the atmosphere at the venue, they ended up publishing incorrect numbers, so before the main MotoGP race on Sunday, they apologized for the error.
So after confirming the correct number of people at the event, the Spanish Grand Prix still had significant numbers, being the Grand Prix with the largest attendance in Jerez for almost a decade: 181,289.
There were many fans at the venue, and millions more at home surely enjoying a race that will certainly be among the best ever due to the duel between Marc Márquez and Pecco Bagnaia, which earned the current world champion of the category the victory.
The MotoGP caravan now heads to Le Mans, precisely the record-breaking location in terms of spectators, achieved in 2023: 278,805.
