Jorge Lorenzo recently spoke on the podcast “The Wild Project” about how he is enjoying his retirement from MotoGP.
In his podcast statements, the former Spanish rider began talking about his life after MotoGP.
– I don’t go out much, but when I do, I do it well. I control the amount of alcohol; alcohol can give us a little happiness. But if we drink too much alcohol regularly, the effect disappears, so we have to control it. Alcohol is also a drug. But it is allowed and I try not to abuse it, but when I go out to party it gives us a certain happiness.
He added about being more well-known in Indonesia than in Spain or Italy: ‘In Indonesia, they know me better than in Spain and Italy. There, both Yamaha and Honda sell more than 4 million scooters every year and the image is the MotoGP Yamaha riders. They made us go there two or three times a year and we appeared on the main television in an ad with the scooters. But of course, there we are not seen by 5 million people like in Spain, which is 400 million, that is, on the main television we are seen by 25 million people. So, when I go there as a tourist to a shopping center in Jakarta, 99% of the people know me, even after 5 years of retirement.’
