Maverick Viñales became the first rider to achieve victories with three different manufacturers in MotoGP. The Spanish rider had a great race on Sunday and showed he is ready to fight for wins during the new season with Aprilia Racing.
In statements to DAZN.En, Maverick talked about his race and the feeling of being the only rider with wins on three different manufacturers in the premier class.
– ‘It has been very difficult, we have suffered a lot. My family knows well all the effort I made and in the end it was rewarded. So, I am very happy, of course, I am looking forward to embracing my wife and my daughters who suffered with me. In Austria, I didn’t know if I should stop, if I should keep racing and now I am on top of everything. It only teaches me one thing, that we should not give up, trust ourselves and keep growing. This was a historic achievement. And I want to thank everyone who gave me their strength. Because there were times when I wanted to throw in the towel, but I always had enough support to keep believing.’
In response to the Journalist and current test rider for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, Dani Pedrosa, Viñales talked about the recovery he made throughout the race.
– ‘I tried to concentrate as much as possible, not to overheat the tire, because I saw that, especially on braking, I was getting too close to people, so I waited for my moment. Above all, patience and conviction was what I told myself. Not to make a single mistake. When it happened, it happened. The only mistake I made was with Miller, who gave me back the ball, but I forced him to go away. I remember you did a similar race in Misano. I always keep it in my mind and from behind it is possible to do it and today I believed with all my might.’
