Ducati has been, in recent years, the most successful constructor in MotoGP – which naturally resulted in the impossibility of having development concessions. It was a gradual growth that has, for now, culminated in the most successful season ever.
In an interview with the website GPOne.com, Ducati Corse’s general manager, Gigi Dall’Igna, reflected on the results achieved: ‘In MotoGP this year we achieved 17 victories, which is also an absolute record. We managed to win with six of the eight riders in the field and this is also an incredible result. Succeeding in this means that this bike truly adapts to all riding styles,’ he said.
The Italian engineer also highlighted the various podiums, particularly the nine monopolized by Ducati: ‘I remember that in 2021 when we achieved this result for the first time, I had difficulty holding back the tears’.
Dall’Igna also confessed that he was surprised at how early such widespread success came: ‘What surprises me in general about these numbers is the fact that, in a relatively short period, we went from being the only constructor that had concessions to being the only one that doesn’t have them’.
