Rider Seppele Luca achieved a remarkable 25th place in the prestigious Africa Eco Race aboard a Kove 450 Rally Pro, outperforming more experienced and established motorcycles in the off-road world. This performance warrants a detailed analysis of this Chinese machine that’s starting to make waves in the rally-raid scene.

The Kove 450 Rally Pro presents itself as a truly competitive rally motorcycle, equipped with a 449cc DOHC single-cylinder engine, liquid-cooled with an external oil radiator. The powerplant develops 54.4 hp at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 42 Nm at 7,000 rpm, enabling it to reach a top speed of 170 km/h.

The chassis is built around a steel perimeter frame, complemented by a 49mm YU-AN front suspension that’s inverted and fully adjustable, offering 305 mm of travel. At the rear, we find an adjustable YU-AN Piggy-Back shock absorber, with the same 305 mm of travel.

In terms of dimensions, the motorcycle has a length of 2.17 meters, width of 81 cm, and height of 1.49 meters. The wheelbase is 1.49 meters, with a seat height of 96 cm and ground clearance of 31 cm. The ready-to-ride weight stands at 145 kg.

One of its most impressive features is its range. With a 30.3-liter fuel tank, the Kove 450 Rally Pro can cover more than 480 kilometers, a crucial aspect for long-distance races.

Braking is handled by a 280 mm front disc with a two-piston caliper and a 240 mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper, both without ABS, favoring total rider control in off-road conditions.

This performance at the Africa Eco Race demonstrates that Kove is blazing a promising trail in the rally motorcycle segment, presenting a serious alternative to the traditionally dominant brands in this category.
