Franco Morbidelli arrives at the Catalan GP in 16th place in the MotoGP world championship. The Italian rider again failed to score points after crashing at the Le Mans GP.
In a debrief, the Prima Pramac Racing rider spoke about his expectations for this weekend at the Montmeló circuit.
– I’m looking forward to the start of this weekend, after the progress we’re making. I want to improve even more, at the start of the race and on the attack for a fast lap, we’re confident in our pace and that’s the most important thing. The start, fast lap and pace during the race is what I’m lacking a bit at the moment. I’ve always been a low-grip driver, I’ve always had something extra compared to the others. I don’t know how the grip will be, but I’m sure it won’t be wonderful. Whatever the conditions, I’m improving in every aspect.
Asked about the feeling he’s getting now with the Ducati and his future, Morbidelli replied: ‘The performance and speed is much better. Last year I even managed to stay ahead of Fabio in qualifying, I was able to put in good performances. I’m going to get Ducati to start talking about me, over time. I’m going to do the best I can now and then we’ll see about my future.
