After a shoulder injury during the Australian round, Lecuona took advantage of this test in Spain to assess his physical condition. Choosing to ride on Thursday morning, the Spaniard completed more laps on Friday, preparing for the upcoming races.
Despite not being fully recovered, Iker remains committed to prioritizing his rehabilitation in the coming days, with the goal of reaching optimal condition for the next race weekend. In a team statement, the Spaniard reflects on his work:
– This was the first time I rode a motorcycle since Australia and, in my country, I couldn’t train as usual, nor did any gym work. So, this is the current situation. I’m doing my best, but I have to take it easy. I’m listening to the physiotherapists and doctors. That’s why on Thursday I chose to ride only in the morning, before visiting the physiotherapist in Barcelona in the afternoon. The shoulder felt a little better than expected on Friday morning, so when the track conditions improved a bit after the initial rain, I went out and rode most of the day. I didn’t feel too bad on the bike, but of course there is some fatigue at the end of the day. We tested everything we wanted and now it’s time to check the data and understand what worked and what didn’t. It’s clear that we still have to work on all areas of the bikes and not on a specific aspect. Grip will be a problem for the races next week, for everyone, I think, so we have to find something. The bike usually works well here, but we will have to see next week what the conditions are and how I am physically.
