The World Superbike season did not start well for Iker Lecuona. The Team HRC rider suffered a shoulder injury in a highside during testing last Tuesday at Phillip Island and is not fit to compete in the opening round.
The Spanish rider still attempted to compete, participating in both free practice sessions held on Friday at the Australian circuit. However, after medical examinations, he was declared unfit to continue.
Therefore, Lecuona will not be able to try to replicate his results from last year at Phillip Island – which was one of his strongest rounds. Team HRC will only have Xavi Vierge competing.
