In December, the biggest names in motorsport gathered on the stunning island of Mallorca for the annual FIM Awards ceremony, celebrating the best in world motorcycling. Among this year’s honorees was Igor Akrapovič, founder and owner of the prestigious exhaust systems brand that bears his name.

The event took place at the Palma Convention Centre, bringing together motorcycling stars and prominent figures from the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM). During the ceremony, sixty-two world champions from various motorcycling disciplines received their gold medals before the enthusiastic applause of FIM members and guests.

Special recognition for Igor Akrapovič

Among the distinctions awarded by FIM president Jorge Viegas, the presentation of the Nicolas Rodil del Valle Gold Medal to Igor Akrapovič stood out. This award, which honors the late honorary president of FIM, is reserved for personalities who have significantly marked the motorcycling industry.

The distinction recognizes Akrapovič’s remarkable contribution to motorsport, not only as an entrepreneur but also through the impact of his exhaust systems, used in numerous high-level competitions. In 2024, fourteen world champions won their titles on motorcycles equipped with Akrapovič systems, underlining the brand’s quality and influence on sporting performance.

The FIM Awards once again established itself as a moment of celebration for motorcycling, not only for recognizing elite athletes but also for valuing the role of entrepreneurs and visionaries like Igor Akrapovič.
