Jorge Martín leads the championship ahead of Francesco Bagnaia, with a lead of 39 points. The Spanish rider is coming off the back of a dream weekend in which he was always the fastest rider.
Speaking to MARCA, Fonsi Nieto talked about managing expectations of winning the championship.
– You can’t think about the championship at championship level now, you can think that I’m fighting for a championship, I’ll try not to make mistakes or maybe one day I’ll settle for second place, but I’m not thinking about the championship itself.
He added about Jorge Martín’s future and Pramac’s management when he is without the Madrid rider: ‘Obviously, his place is with the factory team, I think. It’s a difficult decision for Ducati, but if it were mine, I’d have no doubts. Every weekend he’s getting better and better. We want them to take Jorge away from us, that’s what we showed at Prima Pramac with our work, that all the good riders we had went to the factory team. That’s our part of the job. It wouldn’t be a bad thing. Imagine, for us as a team, if Marc Márquez could come, it would make your hair stand on end just thinking about it. We’re in a very good situation.
