Jorge Martín leads the championship ahead of Francesco Bagnaia, with a 39-point advantage. The Spanish rider comes from a dream weekend, where he managed to always be the fastest rider.
Fonsi Nieto in statements to MARCA, talked about the management that needs to be in place in terms of expectations to win the championship.
– You can’t think about the championship at championship level now, you can think that I’m fighting for a championship, I’ll try not to make mistakes or, maybe, be content with a second place one day, but not think about the championship itself.
He also added about the future of Jorge Martín and the management of Pramac when they are without the rider from Madrid: ‘Obviously, his place is in the factory team, I think. It’s a difficult decision for Ducati, but if it were mine, I wouldn’t have any doubts. Every weekend he is getting better. We want them to take Jorge away from us, that’s what we showed at Prima Pramac with our work, that all the good riders we had went to the factory team. That’s our part of the job. It wouldn’t be a bad thing. Imagine, for us as a team, if Marc Márquez could come, it would be hair-raising just to think about it. We are in a very good situation.’
