Marc Márquez recently revealed that the Montmeló circuit is not one of his favorites. Nevertheless, the Spanish rider feels “at home” and hopes to achieve a good result this weekend.
According to motosan.es, Marc Márquez talked about his expectations for the Catalunya GP.
– If I win here, it’s because we are very, very, very, very, very, very good. I only won here in my two best years, which were 2014 and 2019. This year, I think we are doing well, but we are not like in 2014 and 2019, so it is one of the circuits that has always been a bit more difficult for me than the others, those where I have a bit of difficulty, but I am also looking forward to trying to see how it is with this Ducati, to see where we stand and to see what we can do during the weekend.
He also added about the difficulties he may face: ‘Obviously, I have always been on the podium, because then there is the push from the fans, there is the home feeling, but I also don’t know if it was in 2017 or 2018, where I crashed four or five times in one weekend. It is one of those tracks where I have to make much more effort than in others, where I always make more effort, but I make more effort to change my riding style, I make more effort to work on the bike. I am ready for this weekend, but the equality in MotoGP nowadays, two tenths and you are out of Q2 and that changes the whole weekend. We will especially see T2, those long corners, 3, 4… that is usually a bit difficult for me. Then T4 as well, so we will be focused there to see if we can manage to save it.’
