Maverick Viñales is about to start his third full season of MotoGP with Aprilia. After the progress from 2022 to 2023, the rider wants to continue improving together with the Noale manufacturer this year and is confident.
Asked about how much he misses riding the bike, #12 replied at the presentation: ‘I have to say that I was really enjoying being at home, so I didn’t miss it that much. But of course, riding these bikes, you can only ride them here in MotoGP. We are working hard with Aprilia, trying to turn this bike into a fantastic one. And it’s true that every time we go on track, we are improving and improving – it’s great news. I trained a lot this winter, so I hope to bring fantastic results to this team.’
Regarding the aspect of the new RS-GP, Viñales showed excitement: ‘It looks, of course, very sharp, it’s something I like, but it’s better when you try it. The bike is in good shape.’
As for his feelings, the Spanish rider mentioned: ‘Of course, it’s still early. We were very calm at the Sepang test, really trying to understand what was going well or not. It’s complicated, but we still remain calm. We know we have two more days. I think we are working with the staff on the simple things that will make us move forward, and that’s our goal. I know that if I can be at the front from the first corner, I’m capable of delivering a great performance, so obviously that’s my goal.’
