Francesco Bagnaia is in his best phase of the MotoGP season, achieving two consecutive victories for the first time since September 2022. In this way, he managed to significantly close the gap to the championship leader, who continues to be Jorge Martín (Pramac/Ducati).
The Ducati rider highlighted the importance of being consistent in the press conference after the Mugello round: ‘Of course, Barcelona last year was already good for me. It is important to be consistent, to have the same consistency in terms of work, in terms of results‘.
Next up is the Dutch GP, for which Bagnaia does not expect an easy time: ‘Assen is always great for me, but I remember well that Jorge last year was something like 0.3s/0.4s faster every lap in the last six laps of the race, so it will be complicated. But I think our bike this year can help us a bit in Assen. It helps a bit more in braking, it’s a bit less stable in fast corners‘.
For the 2022 and 2023 champion, continuing the current positive momentum is essential: ‘I think it will be good and I will try to maintain this momentum in the best possible way, because it is important for the championship, but also important for me and for the team because I know our potential, I know how good we are. Honestly, the crash in the Barcelona Sprint was a disaster for me, for my mental state, so I will try to keep it in mind to try not to make the same mistake again and try to continue like this‘.
