Francesco Bagnaia reacted immediately to yesterday’s inglorious retirement in the Sprint race of the Catalan MotoGP Grand Prix. The Ducati rider won the main race this Sunday in Barcelona, surpassing Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati).
The Italian mentioned to the official broadcast that, despite yesterday’s crash, he was confident in his chances of winning: ‘Honestly, I was very angry with what happened yesterday, but I knew the potential was good enough to be able to win the race. I tried everything‘.
Regarding Sunday’s race, Bagnaia admitted that he did not have an easy start, picking up the pace when he saw rivals struggling more: ‘The start was not easy, because other riders were attacking a lot. But then, when I saw that they were starting to have some difficulties with the front, I started attacking more and the pace was fantastic, the bike was fantastic‘.
The 2022 and 2023 champion did not fail to praise Ducati for the work done: ‘My team did an incredible job to fine-tune the bike again. I am very happy and now I am looking forward to the home GP [Mugello]’.
