The Moto2 Malaysian GP saw Pedro Acosta crowned world champion. Second place in the Sepang race was more than enough for the Red Bull KTM Ajo man to secure the title.
In a press conference, the Spaniard said he approached this GP as if it were normal, without added pressure: ‘I was trying not to feel the pressure. Ultimately, we have to understand that we were in an easy situation, now the window was more open to achieve the title. On Tuesday I said that if it wasn’t here, it would be in Qatar or Valencia. I ended up approaching the whole weekend as normal, trying to be competitive for the Sunday race‘.
Acosta also admitted that he tried to ride more with his head in the recent rounds: ‘It is true that in the last two races we were riding with our heads because I think it is very important for the team to achieve the title and also fight for the team title‘.
