Recently, Aprilia’s technical director, Romano Albesiano, admitted that the satellite team will hardly have bikes equal to the factory ones in the next two to three MotoGP seasons. Currently, Miguel Oliveira is with the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team with the ambition of having official equipment, also due to his results on track.
Asked to comment on this perspective, the Portuguese rider replied: ‘I don’t know. It’s really… I want to go to a place where I have a factory bike, as long as the factory bike is performing better than my current bike. At the moment it’s probably a bit confusing for Aprilia because we are doing well on a one-year-old bike‘.
Regarding the differences between the factory team’s RS-GP and the one he rides, Oliveira stated: ‘There are many things that are different, but I believe that with the same bike it is very difficult to say that their bike is so much better because it is the same bike concept, with the same aerodynamic philosophy. So it is not that different, although everything seems different‘.
