Jack Miller made his debut this year at Red Bull KTM after several seasons with Ducati in MotoGP. It was far from his best season of his career, finishing in 11th place, but even while adapting to a new bike and team, he managed to achieve a podium and be frequently among the top ten. However, he was not satisfied with his performance.
The Australian rated himself a 5 out of 10 for this year’s season and explained to the site SPEEDWEEK.com the reason: ‘Because I wanted more. As a rider you always want more, as long as you don’t win every race. We did some things well, but there are some areas where I would have liked to do better‘.
Asked what prevented him from performing better in those areas, Miller mentioned: ‘Because I set my goals too high… a change of manufacturer, a different bike, along with the competition being so strong – several factors play a role, but as a rider you always set the highest goal‘.
That said, #43 ensured that there are reasons to be satisfied and even surprised: ‘In some areas I am satisfied with what we have achieved. I believe we were able to impress some people, sometimes even myself, in terms of how I was able to adapt to this new bike, how we worked together with the team and the results we achieved’.
