The season in the premier category started off strong, and the races in Qatar and Portugal have further increased the expectations for the events that will unfold until November. According to former rider Fonsi Nieto, one of the main title contenders is his compatriot Jorge Martín (Pramac Racing).
‘We saw that he ran a smarter race. When his opponents got closer, he attacked a little more, maintained the distance without making a single mistake throughout the race. I see him more mature, with a goal in mind to finish the year as high as possible and not think about getting into absurd wars for one or two points in the sprint race. The goal is to think much higher, I saw Martín better than ever, it was the best race I’ve seen from him,’ highlighted Nieto to AS.
After two races, Martinator leads this MotoGP edition with 60 points.
The Spanish rider also commented on the incident involving Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez.
‘I believe it was an avoidable crash. Pecco was a bit out of line and that led to contact with Marc. These are races and it’s very difficult to say something. It’s a racing incident, but it was a crash that could have been avoided. Pecco could have avoided the incident’, explained.
