Franco Morbidelli finished another GP outside of the points. The Italian rider suffered a crash that led his rival Jack Miller to suffer an inevitable fall.
The Prima Pramac Racing rider, after the crash, was approached by Jack Miller in a more aggressive manner while they were walking in the gravel accompanied by the circuit marshals.
In the debrief, Morbidelli talked about the events of the race and his weekend in Jerez.
– ‘There was a moment in the race where I was faster than Jack and it was very difficult to overtake, but at a certain point he opened up and I was on my trajectory. I don’t know if he didn’t see me and eventually we touched and fell. It was a shame because it would have been good to finish the race and I felt like I was doing well with the bike’s settings and everything. It would have been good to take the bike to the end for the team, but in the end, this is part of racing.’
Asked about what happened between him and Jack Miller in the gravel after the incident, Franco replied: ‘He had something to say, but I didn’t hear him, I had earplugs in, but I guess it wasn’t related to how I was (laughs). My pace with the bike right now is very good, we are still in a strange situation because I haven’t tested the bike, but when I can do everything I’m supposed to do with the bike, I feel very good, we set the fastest lap on the fifth lap of the race, so tomorrow will be a good opportunity, it will be my first test and it’s good to build a good relationship with the bike.’
