Fabio Quartararo faces this weekend the Portuguese MotoGP Grand Prix. The hopes for a strong result like his two previous wins in Portimão are not high, after in Qatar he couldn’t even fight for the top ten.
Asked about his chances of repeating a good result this year, the 2021 champion replied: ‘To be honest, low. But we have to be positive, try to bring the most we can. Of course, to be honest, I’m not really thinking about the win, but just for me to go directly into Q2 is quite important at this track. I will try to qualify well and then we’ll see in the two races’.
And will Portimão be better than Losail for Quartararo? ‘For me, yes, because we don’t have tests and it’s a different track. We had two good races here and I think we can be very fast’, he said.
