Pedro Acosta finished first at Le Mans in third place overall. The Spanish driver was very satisfied with the work done today.
In a debrief, the Spanish driver talked about the sensations of the first day on the French circuit: ‘The window is open for the type of tires we’re going to use. It’s not the best track for me, but I’m happy with the result.
Asked about his future in MotoGP and how he copes with the pressure, Acosta replied: ‘I live for the pressure, my coach is the one who gets paid to think about my future. It’s incredible to see the amount of people wearing my t-shirts and carrying my flags, it’s incredible. In Jerez we were able to understand the step we would have to take in the near future. It helped us to focus on being a bit more careful with the throttle, to use the tire a bit softer, because it was a bit hard.’
He also talked about his impressive defense when he was about to crash: ‘Well, in the end I crashed there two years ago. Then I knew there was a bump, but I was a bit over the line. It’s also true that I was already using the medium front tire and I think the conditions were a bit cold for that tire. So I went in a bit expecting what was there. But I saved it, which is the most important thing. I couldn’t ruin another bike.
