Pedro Acosta finished first in Le Mans in third position overall. The Spanish rider was very pleased with the work done today.
In the debrief, the Spanish rider talked about the feelings of the first day at the French circuit: ‘The window is open for the type of tires we are going to use. It’s not the best track for me, but I am happy with the result.’
Asked about his future in MotoGP and how he deals with pressure, Acosta replied: ‘I live for the pressure, my coach is the one who gets paid to think about my future. It’s amazing to see the amount of people with my t-shirts and flags, it’s incredible. In Jerez, we were able to understand the step we would have to take in the near future. It helped us focus on being a bit more careful with the throttle, using the tire a bit softer, because it was a bit hard.’
He also talked about his impressive save when he was about to crash: ‘Well, in the end I crashed there two years ago. Then, I knew there was a bump, but it was a bit above the line. It is also true that I was already using the medium front tire and I think the conditions were a bit cold for that tire. So, I entered a bit cautiously of what was there. But I saved it, which is the most important thing. I couldn’t ruin another bike.’
