Pedro Acosta arrives at Mugello in 6th place in the championship. The Spanish rider is looking to achieve a more positive result, after suffering two crashes in the last two Sunday races.
In the debrief, the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider talked about his expectations for the weekend in Italy.
– For sure. In the end, every day we can see, for example, from Qatar until now, I am much smoother now, there are fewer moments during a session. I don’t know, I feel in tune with the bike. I keep it to myself, no, it wasn’t a problem with the bike. I also remember that, in Moto2, the first time I accelerated fully on the main straight, I braked at the first corner and said: “Damn, I have to accelerate again to reach the corner.” But I don’t know, it can be very good, you know, Mugello is a track where we usually achieve a good result, even more in Moto2 than in Moto3, but it’s a track where we are usually quite fast. Also, it was my first point in the Rookies Cup. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
He also added about the competitiveness of KTM in recent years at Mugello: ‘Since winter, we have stayed the same. It is true that I have grown a bit for this. We are on the path we want to be on, it has usually been good. Also, living with Miguel at 21 years old wasn’t that bad. Furthermore, now our bike is better. We see that the victory in Jerez was quite difficult for us. Usually, we are much closer to the guys at the front than in previous years. Why not have a good weekend here?’
