Toprak Razgatlioglu recovered to second place in the first race of the Superbike World Championship in Assen. The 2021 champion was about three seconds behind the winner, Nicholas Spinelli (Barni Spark Racing Team/Ducati), when the race was interrupted seven laps from the end and not resumed.
The Turkish ROKiT BMW rider said in the official broadcast that with one more lap the result could have been different in his favor, in a race he enjoyed, especially in the early stages:
– First of all, congratulations to Barni Racing, but I just needed one more lap. Anyway, the race ended like this. But I was really enjoying the race, especially in the first laps because the first sector was all wet and we were sliding, everyone was trying different trajectories.
In Sunday’s races, Razgatlioglu wants to go even further, as he emphasized: ‘I finished second here, but I also need a win here with BMW. But we will see tomorrow. Everyone is working hard for the best result, and we will see tomorrow‘.
On Sunday, #54 will start from third place in the Superpole race, and there his starting position in the second main race will be determined.
