The MotoGP season hasn’t been easy for Aleix Espargaró. After five rounds, he still doesn’t have any podiums in main races (he was third in the Sprint race at the Qatar GP), while his Aprilia teammate, Maverick Viñales, already has a win.
In the French GP, he finished ninth, although he had been in podium positions. Looking at the veteran’s results, one might think that the feelings with the RS-GP are not the best, but that is not the reality.
During the weekend at Le Mans, Espargaró assured the press that he feels he has shown the speed to achieve much better results, although he hasn’t yet achieved the desired podium:
– The feeling is that the bike is working well. I know I have to prove it by finishing on the podium. I feel like I have the speed, but for one reason or another, I haven’t been able to get the bike on the podium. No excuses, keep working, but I believe the speed is there and we are proving it in more or less every round.
