It was a brutal battle until the end of the Spanish GP and Marc Márquez fought with Pecco Bagnaia to conquer his first podium with Ducati. Márquez’s smile was big, with the Spaniard showing his appreciation for how things went on track and for the performance shown.
Here is Márquez’s first reaction in the parc fermé: ‘It was a super important race. In the beginning, especially, I was a bit stiff because, as you know, I had an accident in Austin, I had an accident yesterday and then I was stiff and lost some positions, but the speed was there to come back, the speed was there to fight with Bagnaia and it was a tough fight, even with slight stops [pointing to his right arm, with the suit clearly marked]’.
Then, he showed his smile after an epic battle with #1, whom he praised: ‘This is a good race. I tried to close the door, he came in and this is something that happens in races and on the last lap he was very good, he pushed and did a fantastic lap, the fastest of the race, I think, and I tried to follow him, but he had a little more’.
And he finished, sending a message to everyone: ‘Super happy with this first podium. As you can see, no matter what happened in the past, I will fight until the end’.
