This weekend, Franco Morbidelli faces a home round in the MotoGP World Championship – the San Marino GP at Misano. The Monster Energy Yamaha rider comes from 14th place in Catalunya and aims to return to the top ten, which he has been missing since Assen.
In a statement, the Italian rider shared his expectations for Misano: ‘The Catalunya GP on Sunday did not go as we expected. For the San Marino GP, we will still try to improve on Friday and hope for a calm Saturday and Sunday‘.
Morbidelli then highlighted the importance of this round for him: ‘I am happy to race in Misano this weekend. It is my home round and I know this track very well. It is a circuit that I really like, it is a good track, and I am also happy to have my family and friends there supporting me. So, I am approaching this weekend with a positive mindset. However, we have a lot of work to do, so we need to stay focused and work step by step to continue improving‘.
