Trackhouse Racing makes its debut this year in MotoGP, being the first team from the United States in the premier class in many years. The same happened in Formula 1 in 2016 when Haas entered.
Davide Brivio, team manager of Trackhouse Racing, was asked if this team could be the Haas of MotoGP, to which he replied: ‘I hope we’re better! Of course, Haas is an American team in European sports. Maybe it’s by ownership, but from the outside, my feeling is that they have a lot of European “DNA”. They seem like an English team or an Italian team – whatever you want to call it, because they have connections everywhere: the engine in Italy, the chassis in Italy, the base in England. But maybe you don’t feel that big difference between them and another team.’
When asked how Trackhouse Racing can differentiate itself in MotoGP, Brivio replied: ‘We’re just starting, so maybe there isn’t a big difference right now. But we try to do something different – I don’t know what, but maybe we have a fresh approach. The excitement of being new. I don’t want to create too many expectations, but we’ll try to see if we can bring some new ideas or maybe use the experience we have in America.’
