After missing the last three rounds due to injury, Enea Bastianini returns to the track this weekend at the Indonesian MotoGP Grand Prix. He thus begins the final phase of a first season with Ducati that has been marked by several physical problems.
The Italian admitted that the recent absence was far from ideal, but necessary: ‘Finally I am back on track with my team. Having to miss more races even when I was starting to feel comfortable on the Desmosedici GP was not what we needed, but after the surgery it was important to dedicate a few weeks to recovering as best as I could, although I am still not at 100 percent‘.
Bastianini spoke after his approach to the upcoming rounds: ‘Now we start calmly and dedicate these last races to settling in and being competitive as soon as possible. So, I don’t have high expectations for this weekend; I just want to work in the best possible way with my team‘.
