Enea Bastianini and Francesco Bagnaia fulfill the last year of their contract with Ducati. While Bagnaia’s stay does not seem to be in great doubt, the same cannot be said for Bastianini – whose place is highly coveted, especially by Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati) who was the vice-world champion in 2023.
But will Bagnaia have any say in who his teammate will be in 2025, if he stays at Ducati? In an interview with the championship’s official website, Livio Suppo mentioned that he does not see this scenario happening and explained the reasons:
– I don’t believe that Pecco has a say in who his teammate will be, because at least in my time, unless there is a bad relationship between two riders, there is no reason not to hire them. If there is no personality problem, a rider cannot complain just because he thinks he can be faster than him. Each factory has to try to have the strongest team it can.
