Joan Mir embarks on his second MotoGP season with Repsol Honda. The 2020 world champion was unable to fight for victories and podiums in his first year with the Japanese manufacturer – due to a not very competitive bike.
The Honda team is committed to reversing the situation and is working hard to introduce considerable improvements to the RC213V. Mir assured that he starts the new season encouraged by what he sees, also believing that he will be able to further improve:
– The truth is that I am very optimistic at the moment because I saw that Honda is working very hard. They have really made a very different bike in a very short time, with noticeable improvements in weight, power, and also grip. It is something that I noticed in the first outing I had in Valencia, that they had worked very hard. Then, from Valencia to Sepang, another step forward was taken, and hopefully we can still improve even more in the Qatar test. Yes, I am optimistic, I am more eager than anyone to take this situation forward and be able to be at the front again, to be able to enjoy the races again, and I am excited.
