Francesco Baganha had to adapt to his new bike, the GP24. The reigning champion took some time to get used to his new bike, but just like in 2022, he is in the fight for the MotoGP title.
In statements to ‘Speed Week’, the Italian rider talked about what it’s like to ride the new version of the Ducati.
– The situation in 2022 was similar. Now we have collected a lot of data that should help solve the problems and I think we will take that step. It is always difficult to make predictions. But if we fight for the championship and finish in the top three, that’s also good. Of course, our goal is to win again. And more and more. But the journey is still long. In the first three races, Jorge Martin made the difference and built a 30-point advantage. But in these races, I only scored three points less than last year.
He also added, speaking of his ambitions for the future: ‘When I was young, of course I dreamed of being a champion. But I didn’t think about what kind of champion. Currently, I am happy with who I am. I am very calm, I never argue with anyone because I think it’s better not to. I am quite intelligent and I can understand situations. I like who I am, I don’t want to be someone else. I am like this in the paddock, as well as in my private life. I think many riders say they are a person they are not in their normal life. I don’t want to be like that.’
