Johann Zarco revealed himself to be comfortable throughout the pre-season, despite discovering a new bike – the Honda RC213V. The LCR Honda rider is confident after the Losail tests.
After the tests, the Gaul was asked if he tested everything he wanted in Losail, to which the rider replied: ‘Yes, so that they can homologate the aerodynamic package, and there are also some big things that we cannot test during a competition weekend. That’s why we took time from these two days to do it. I am really confident with Honda because of everything we did in these two days, then they work in Japan to make everything better. And from Sepang to Qatar there were some interesting big changes. With the help we have from the rules for the 2024 season, we need to be patient because more opportunities will come.’.
When asked if this test was more to reconfirm things previously tested, Zarco denied: ‘No, I still tried something new. The aerodynamics were confirmed on Monday, and on Tuesday there were things about the stiffness of the bike – understanding in which areas we can do something different and get the rider’s feeling.’.
