Enea Bastianini was early out of the possibility of competing for the MotoGP title last year, when in the Sprint race of the first round he suffered an injury that kept him out for several months. It wasn’t the only physical problem he had, but now that he is recovered, he faces 2024 with the ambition to compete for the top positions.
The Italian from Ducati made it clear in a press conference: ‘I’m here to try to win some races and fight for the title. But we have to do a great job during testing, because it’s very important to be ready from the first race. But I also don’t want to make some small mistakes like last year, being nervous on some days, because last year was really tough for me‘.
After the adversities of 2023, Bastianini ensured that this year’s season will be different: ‘I learned a lot from the 2023 season and 2024 will be different without pressure – because I have a lot of pressure, but I’m here to try to win and it will be interesting and good to see how my approach is in Malaysia‘.
