Aleix Espargaró didn’t hide his admiration and even the possibility of helping Jorge Martín before the final race of the year, but he didn’t hesitate to leave words of praise for Pecco Bagnaia. In addition, the Aprilia rider also briefly talked about the great championship achieved by #89 in a satellite team.
‘Nobody could have imagined the crazy race they saw this Sunday. It was a hell of a crazy race. I mean, [Jack] Miller was leading, there were accidents. For me, it was a mistake to race at two in the afternoon [Portuguese time]. It was too cold. With the front tire, we were all a bit tight. But anything can happen in MotoGP and Jorge [Martín] had nothing to lose’, #41 began, before talking about the difference between factory and satellite and not forgetting a ‘spectacular’ year:
– I feel really sorry for Jorge, I think the year he had in a satellite team, no matter how much they try to sell that the bike is official, it’s good, there are eight of them and in an official team we are 100. It has been spectacular since [Mick] Doohan, no one has won two consecutive titles.
And he concluded with praise for the champion, but without forgetting… his best friend: ‘Pecco is a great rider, he is a hard-working guy, he is a humble guy, he is calm, he is a good guy, he seems like a good person. Congratulations. I am very happy for him. Jorge is my best friend, but I am happy for Pecco’.
