After the ninth place that felt like a podium in Indonesia, Álex Rins is already looking ahead to the next race on the calendar, the Australian GP. The LCR Honda Spanish rider recalled the 2022 result with a goal in mind.
‘Hopefully I can repeat last year’s victory in Australia, but we are not in the necessary conditions. The fact that we finished ninth in the Indonesian Grand Prix helps us unlock another step and now we need to try to replicate the result we achieved in Indonesia. In Australia, we will try to finish a bit closer to the front, because I finished the last race 22 seconds behind the leader, so I will try to finish a bit closer,’ he explained.
Rins is currently the only Honda rider to win a race in 2023, when he claimed victory at the Americas GP in the third round of the championship.
