After his first victory of the season in Barcelona, Álvaro Bautista arrives in Assen with motivation to continue his streak of good results. The Spanish rider was injured during the preseason, but seems to be back at 100% and the recent victory and continued good results may influence his decision to continue racing or not.
In statements, according to Paddock.gp, Bautista talked about the difficult recovery he had at the beginning of the season and his first championship victory.
– ‘Winning a race is always very important. Especially after a tough winter for me due to my injury and also due to the feelings I had with the bike during the preseason tests. It wasn’t the best feeling. So, it was very important to rediscover the good feelings during the Barcelona weekend. I think the victory was a consequence of those feelings and also of my physical condition. I was very happy and that gave me a lot of confidence to face the rest of the championship.’
Regarding his future, the Spanish rider remains focused on the current season, without giving any hints about what he will decide: ‘Well, honestly, I have nothing in mind. In Barcelona, I rediscovered my feelings, and that is the most important thing for me. I always say this: I am here to continue competing because I have a lot of fun driving. So, for me, the important thing is to have good feelings on the bike and always try to improve.’
