One of Honda’s most popular scooters, the PCX125, arrives in 2025 with a fresh look – both technically and aesthetically. It’s also more environmentally friendly and now includes a new DX version.
This model features a 125cc single-cylinder eSP+ engine, delivering 9.2 kW of power at 8,750 rpm and 11.7 Nm of torque. The new ECU programming, redesigned exhaust system with a repositioned catalytic converter, and the O2 sensor ensure compliance with Euro 5+ emission standards. The Idling Stop technology, which stops the engine at idle, remains a feature, 14 years after its debut. The transmission is automatic CVT.
The frame is made of durable, lightweight tubular steel, with a telescopic fork in the front and two rear shock absorbers ensuring suspension stability. As for braking, there’s a front disc with a two-piston caliper, while at the rear, the drum from previous PCX125 generations has been replaced by a disc and single-piston caliper. There is also single-channel ABS.
The DX version has differences in the rear suspension, featuring two shock absorbers with a remote reservoir. Weight varies slightly between models: 133 kg for the PCX125 and 134 kg for the PCX125 DX.
The wheels measure 14 inches in the front and 13 inches in the rear, and the scooter’s lean angle has been slightly modified to 26.5°.
The rider benefits from a variable traction control system (HSTC), which enhances safety and confidence in wet conditions. This scooter, designed mainly for city use, comes with a wide handlebar and a rear handle for ideal passenger support.
It includes a Smart Key system, a 30.4-liter storage space under the seat, and a USB-C port in the glovebox. All lighting is LED, with an updated V-shaped headlamp.
Lastly, the instrument panel differs between versions. The base model has an LCD screen that displays essential information. However, the DX version goes further.
The more equipped DX version features a new five-inch color TFT display, optimized for visibility and with iOS and Android smartphone connectivity via the Honda RoadSync app. A simple, backlit four-way switch on the left handlebar allows screen navigation. The rider can also make calls and listen to music if using a Bluetooth headset with a microphone in the helmet.
There are four possible decorations for the 2025 PCX125: Mat Galaxy Black Metallic; and the new Mat Dim Gray Metallic; Pearl Snowflake White; and Pearl Dark Ash Blue.
