There is no end in sight for Honda’s results crisis in MotoGP. At the Americas GP, the Japanese manufacturer did not score any points and only Luca Marini reached the finish line in both the Sprint race and the main race.
After three rounds, Honda is last in the Constructors’ World Championship with only eight points, and LCR Honda (satellite team) and Repsol Honda (factory team) are also at the bottom of the team championship.
In Austin, Joan Mir admitted that the wrong direction was followed in the development of the bike and there is no solution to the existing problems. The riders’ manager Carlo Pernat commented on the situation of the Japanese in statements to GPOne.com:
– It’s a disaster. In my 40-year career, I have never seen anything like this, they have many accidents, they have regressed. The choice of Marini was correct in terms of contracts, with a factory bike, but he is also risking a lot from a mental point of view.
