It is with confidence that Fabio Di Giannantonio is in India to face the debut of the GP in the MotoGP world championship, with the rider believing that everyone starts on equal terms, since it will be the first time that everyone will race on the circuit.
At the time the rider met with journalists, he had not yet had the opportunity to be at the Indian circuit: ‘No, no, I will see the track in 30 minutes. I played a lot of Playstation at home, but when you are on a new track there is always something new compared to the simulations you can do on track’.
The Italian explained that he did some “homework” based on the possibilities: ‘From the photos, the track map, and also through games and everything else, it seems to be a very beautiful and also very fast track. I am also curious to see how they have improved the areas related to safety’.
Regarding whether the fact of being a new track for everyone ends up being a help, in the sense that you are on an equal footing compared to your opponents, the Gresini rider responded:
– It certainly helps. When you arrive in MotoGP you can look at the data [from the tracks] year after year and you can improve yourself a little at the present moment, compared to what you were a year ago, and by starting from scratch everyone is more or less at the same level. We will start from here and there may be an opportunity.
