KTM has reiterated more than once that its priority is to work with its current riders in MotoGP, being less concerned with market movements when many are nearing the end of their contracts.
Brad Binder is secure until 2026 with the Austrian manufacturer, while Pedro Acosta (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM) seems destined to move to the factory team next year. Less certain are the situations of Augusto Fernández (Red Bull GasGas Tech3/KTM) and Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM), whose contracts are ending.
Also ending his contract at the end of the year is Marc Márquez (Gresini) – who was seen entering KTM’s facilities in the paddock of the Italian MotoGP Grand Prix this Friday. And at the Austrian manufacturer, the possibility of hiring the eight-time world champion is not completely ruled out.
In statements to DAZN, KTM team manager Francesco Guidotti emphasized that there are advantages and potential risks in having the Spaniard on the team. However, he also highlighted that rumors in the rider market do not always result in changes:
– I think that at this moment there are opportunities for both the riders and the teams, and we know that this can happen every two years. But we have also seen in the past so many times that it seemed like something had to happen and then everything stayed the same […]. Having Marc can be good for performance, but in other aspects it can be dangerous.
